Dr Paul Flatau is Deputy Director of the AHURI Western Australia Research Centre and teaches in Economics at Murdoch University. He was formerly Director of the WA Centre. He has published widely in a range of fields including labour economics, the history of economic thought and housing.

Paul's main interests in housing research have been in the areas of housing and poverty, housing and non-shelter outcomes and Indigenous housing outcomes. He has recently completed an AHURI project on Indigenous Access to Mainstream Public and Community Housing and is currently working on a major project regarding the Effectiveness and Cost-Effectiveness of Homelessness Prevention and Assistance Programs.
