Dr Rachel Ong

Dr Rachel Ong is a Research Officer at Murdoch University and an associate of HURIWA. Rachel's research interests are in the field of applied housing and labour economics, with a particular focus on disadvantaged individuals such as housing assistance recipients and mature age persons. Her current research centres on interactions between the housing and labour markets, including:

Analysing the relationship between housing assistance and labour market behaviour; and
Modelling the dynamics of the Australian housing market to measure the impact of economic and policy changes on drivers of housing supply and demand, and tenure and labour market outcomes.

Her research outcomes from previous projects include publications in peer-reviewed international and Australian journals, refereed conference proceedings, research reports and presentations at policy seminars.
